Overview of the post of the
Attorney General :
The post of Attorney General of the State of Alaska is the position of Chief Legal Advisor to the Governor of the State of Alaska, in addition to that, the Attorney General also acts as the Legal Advisor for the Government of the State of Alaska. The post of Attorney General has existed since the beginning in Alaska, but in the past, it used to be an elected position, which is currently an appointed position.
Legislature procedure in Alaska :
The Attorney General performs his role as the Commissioner of the Legal Department of the State of Alaska and performs the duties. In the early days of the Alaska Territory, the Territorial Council served as the Attorney General and the Alaska Legislature mandated legislation for the state of Alaska. Law-making bodies include both the Alaska House of Representatives and the Alaska Senate. The House of Representatives consists of 40 members, in addition, the Senate consists of 20 members.

The term of service of the members of the House of Representatives is up to 2 years while the members of the Senate serve for a term of 4 years.
Process of the proposed law and role of Governer
The new law introduced in the state of Alaska, as the proposed law, is known as a bill. This bill can be introduced in any House of the Legislature of the State of Alaska. After the bill is introduced, as per rules it is sent to the standing committees of more than one Legislature. It is the committees that actually decide whether the bill is adapted for further processing or not. May suggest any modification. If any suggestions for amendments are given in the bill, after consideration of the amendment by the original house, it gives its approval through voting. If this bill is passed after amendment, then the second house will go through the same process. There are many times that after passing the bill by one House, the other House suggests any amendment in the proposed law or the bill in that case until the differences between the two Houses are resolved. Until then, that bill does not become law. A uniform version is required to be passed by both houses after that bill becomes law. If the bill is passed equally by both houses, the bill becomes law after the approval of the Governor of the State of Alaska. Each bill is subject to the Governor’s review. If the Governor does not sign the bill and does not take any action, then that proposed bill automatically becomes law. If the Governor repeals the proposed bill, in such a situation the bill will come to the Legislature for reconsideration, and the Legislature votes to override the veto prohibition made by the Governor and pass it as law. A resolution is passed to repeal the prohibition made by the Governor. A two-thirds majority is required to revoke the prohibition made by the Governor. If it is an appropriation bill, in such a situation a three-fourth majority is required. The legislature cannot quash the objection made by the governor through a simple majority. The legal process of the State of Alaska is conducted according to perfectly organized and established laws. Laws are made following high standards legislature and following the prescribed procedure. Once that law is enacted, that law is enforced in the state of Alaska.
Role functions and duties of the Attorney General of Alaska :
It is the job of the Attorney General of Alaska to perform its role in the administration and prosecution of justice in accordance with the laws prevailing in the state of Alaska. The principal function of the Attorney General of the State of Alaska is to act as legal advisor to state officials to provide legal advice to the Governor of the State of Alaska and to prosecute the offending person in case of any violation of criminal laws in the State of Alaska, Laws relating to consumer protection protect the rights of consumers and to provide legal protection to consumers against unfair trade practices are some of the major functions and duties of the Attorney General of the State of Alaska.
